National Water Week 2024 (Water for Peace)

National Water Week 2024 (Water for Peace)

The National Water Week is a culmination of the call by UN Water upon all governments to take part in celebrating the World Water Day, which takes place on 22 March every year. The World Water Day is about focusing attention on the importance of water. In response to the call, the South African government mandates celebration of the National Water Week inline with the objectives of UN Water.

This year’s theme on groundwater draws attention to the hidden water resource that has always been critically important but not fully recognised in sustainable development policymaking.

WATER IS LIFE, SANITATION IS DIGNITY
