3rd Incomati Basin Women in Water Conference (IBWiWC)

The Inkomati-Usuthu Catchment Management Agency (IUCMA) introduced the Incomati Basin Women in Water Conferences (IBWiWC) from 2015 to promote the role of women in the water sector, particularly in the Incomati Basin. The IUCMA implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) requires additional effort in increasing the participation of women who would otherwise be left outside the current formal arena of planning and management of water resources. The conferences serve as a platform through which basin stakeholders and water management institutions engaged on IWRM matters affecting all sectors across the Incomati basin which includes the co-riparian states, the Kingdom of Eswatini and the Republic of Mozambique.

The 3rd IBWiWC will focused on what women in water are doing on the ground with an endeavour to showcase possibilities and unlocking further opportunities for new entrants and expansions for those who are already in business.
